David Barker

David H Barker was organist at Whixley Church near Knaresborough from 1967-9; Assistant Organist and Choirmaster at Halifax Parish Church from 1969-76; Organist & Choirmaster at Holy Trinity, Huddersfield 1976-8; and Organist & Choirmaster at St Paul’s, King Cross, Halifax from 1979. He has given recitals at churches in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, has accompanied choirs in several cathedrals and large churches, including York Minster, Durham, Wakefield, Ripon and Blackburn Cathedrals, Bridlington Priory and Beverley Minster.  David has also accompanied choirs and soloists in different locations. He holds the BA Hons of Leeds University and the LTCL in organ performance.  Non-musical interests include transport, especially steam railways, medieval architecture and local history.
