- Halifax Organ Academy
The Academy aims to provide tuition and support for organists, raise the standard of playing
and the number of good players in the locality, and encourage people - especially young
people - to take up playing the organ. The HDOA is a partner in the Academy, along
with Halifax Minster, the RSCM, Calderdale Council and other groups.
- Incorporated Association of Organists
The IAO is a nationwide body to which all the local associations are
affiliated. Members of the Halifax association are also members of
the IAO, and are entitled to attend the events it organises,
including the annual Congress.
- International Organ Festival at St Albans
The St Albans festival is the longest running organ festival in the world. It was founded by
Peter Hurford in 1959. At its heart are two competitions - one for interpretation and one for
improvisation - that attract entrants from throughout the world. Many winners of the competitions
have gone on to build international careers for themselves.

Founded by Anne Page and Paul Binski, CAOS offers a week-long summer course in Cambridge, as well
as occasional study days.
